  1. I used the WINmpg program to convert an .avi file to a DVD compliant .mpg.
When I play it with Media Player or rename it as a .vob file and play it with Power DVD it works fine, when I try to play it on my DVD player, there is no sound. Obviously I am doing something wrong. Can anyone give me an idea as to what it is? Also, how do I use Nero 6 to burn it to a DVD.

    rename it as a .vob
That's not the traditional way of creating a VOB...
Try reading some of the numerous guides on AVI to DVD found under Convert, left.
