it plays on the monitor but not on the tv

i have a problem,i connected the pc to the tv and it runs real fine,the only problem is that some movies(mostly divx) appears on the monitor but not on the tv...can anyone help me or tell if there is anything wrong with software or hardware?

We need more info than you provided. What video card do you have? What OS? How old are your video card's drivers? Do you have the latest version of DirectX installed?

You can try to set your TV as the primary display from display properties, and it might show the moive on TV then.

But I also don't know how to solve and play this type of moives on the extended display/monitor...

be sure your tv is on before the computer is...

Been there, done that.

Most DivX palyers use DirectX rendering. Unfortuantely none of them support Full-Screen dual monitors. It will work if your player isn't maximized. It will work if you have the TV set to mirror your monitor (as opposed to dual monitor settup). It will work if you have dual monitor and your TV is the primarey display.

Also, if you are doing mirror, then you have to have your resolution set to 800x600 @ 60 hz. Some cards can't convert resolutions on the fly. Make sure your player isn't resetting the resoltuion on you.
