  1. Can this be done?

I tried putting it in my mac but it doesn't recognize it.

I figured I could just run it thru dvd backup but it ain't gonna be that easy, is it?

I have 2 2-dvd sets purchased in England that I wanna be able to watch on my regular setup.

    Thanks for your help!

odd, mine reads them...........try restarting. And if you want it to play, for now, either wai for the next realease of MTR or use VPC and ifoedit.

This is a commercially pressed DVD movie, and the Mac doesn't even mount the disc? Please confirm if this is the case. If so, I'd suggest either cleaning or replacing your DVD drive, as yours must be defective. If you're still under warranty, get it fixed by whoever sold you that drive (Apple, in most cases, unless you installed your own). Since you say (in your computer details) that you have a G3 600 running OS 9.2.2, I'm gonna guess you're not covered by warranty, and that you have an iBook, and that you should check out what kind of 3rd party iBook drive upgrades might be available, or buy yourself an external FireWire DVD-ROM drive (~$50-$60), and you can even get region-free firmware for many models, to facilitate multi-region playback and ripping on your computer.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  4. I restarted and it played fine in my mac.

Now that I look at it more closely the region is 0 but it is a PAL dvd.

Is there a way to go from PAL to NTSC?

  5. I had the same problem, the most recent version "mpeg2 works" has a nifty little app that is bundled along with it called "DVD converter" which will convert PAL to NSTC and the other way around, video along with audio. and it works great, and very easy two or three click and BAM! you have a 4 hour wait......
