  1. I believe I am having problems with some Memorex DVD+r's

I have tried to backup one of my DVD's and have used two different methods, both unsuccessful. First I tried to copy the whole DVD with DVDxcopy platinum (advanced mode), and produced an unreadable disk (by both DVD player toshiba sd-1800, and computer LG 4040B).
I then used the newest DVDShrink to backup just the main title, and burned with the writing utility provided with TMPGenc DVD Author. Again I recieved a wholly unreadable disk with the same media (and an error "invalid allocation unit...at end of burning)

However using method 2, DVDShrink main title, I succesfully burned with a Maxell DVD-RW (RICOHJPNW11) .

I have to be sure, so if you are sure what is causing this problem, help would be very much appreciated.

  7. I have had no problems with the Memorex DVD+R CMC MAG-F01's. No problems meaning out of 100, I didn't have an unreadable disc. I can't say about compatablity with other players besides a Playstation, my Cyberhome stand alone dvd player, or my TDK 420N.

I am using a TDK 420N burner. I backup the main movie using DVD Shrink, I then use Imgtool to make the image and then DVD Decryptor to burn at 2.4x. The discs do say 4x, but aren't recognized as such by my burner.

I got 100 from Best Buy in January (or around that time) when they were on sale.
