    Sorry for this newbie-question.

I have some .vob-files I want edit in FCP.

Is it possible to do this with ffmpegX. This is the only program I found which can convert my .vob-files, so it seems to me like I have to find a way to do this with ffmpegX.

    THX for your help.

P.S. Sorry, my english is not that good

  2. Encode them with DivX preset (reduce keyframe interval to 12 for easier seeking) then use DivX Doctor II to package the resulting .avi into a .mov container and use it for the editing.

I am encountering a problem importing mov from divx doctor into fcp when I encode individual vob files

When encoding all vob's from one film into avi (ffmpegx)and then using divx doctor to make an mov I get something that that fcp likes.

However I have dvd's that ffmpegx that appears not able to encode the vobs as one file. The issue is when I encode individual vobs into avi and then produce mov's with divx doctor, fcp only imports the first mov made from the first vob and refuses the subsequent files.

    Does anyone have a solution?

  4. Hi,

I have just done it with MacMPEG2Decoder. Saved video as QT .mov using the Animation Codec (because it was a short clip). Converted Audio on the same .vob with FFMpegX using the preset MP3(film). But I thin the sound would be better in AIFF using another program on a demuxed file (for instance with MacAC3Decode).

Thankyou for responding to my posting, but what I really want to know is why ffmpegx will on occasion refuse to encode all .vob files from a video TS folder?

    And,

Why, when I encode individual .vob files which are then fed into divx doctor to produce mov. files with uncompressed audio, FCP will import the first .mov from the dvd, but refuses to import the 2nd and 3rd etc.?

Does anyone have specific answers to these questions?
