  1. I am converting my Spykids DVD to SVCD/VCD and no matter what settings or templates I try with Tmpgenc, I always get a "Flicker" after it makes the .MPG file. Its hard to explain it here, but say if someone is waving their hand, you would see a quick flicker of it in the motion they wave. It sometimes looks like the video is jerky!

If anyone knows what I am talkin about plz help!!! How can I fix this??

    Thx.

I'm not quite sure what you are describing?

If it's a DVD you DID do a force film conversion to avoid the field order issue?

  3. Funny you should ask this. I just used DVDx v1.6 to encode Spy Kids VCDs. Everything looked fine to me on my Apex 1500. I let a friend borrow the disc to try on their DVD player and they said it looked fine too.

  4. Its an interlace problem. People tell you to force film mode, but I'm not sure what that means.

I use the the deinterlace filter on the advanced setting. Double click on the on deinterlace and try different filters. It lets you preview what the filters will do to the film. Mostly choosing Odd or Even fixes things.

Force Film Mode = 23.976fps Encoding

But then you have to do a step or two to ensure the 23.976fps video is encoded and played back correctly on your dvd player.

The 'lines' are interlaced lines, which means you probably DIDNT force film, and left it @ 29.97fps Interlaced. You have two options, encode @ 23.976fps (Forced Film!) or encode @ 29.97fps but you must DeInterlace!

Not quite... if you encode at 29.97 you just need to get the field order right. Never de-interlace movies, the result will just loose too much.

  7. Whoa! I found the solution - I used the deinterlace filters in TMPGENC and it worked! No more jitter/Jumpiness!
Just to help others with this problem, the one I used is "Even Field". The Movie is perfect now .

    Thx all for replies!
