    hi
    thanks for reading
i am quite desprate for help
    you see:

i live in Singapore, PAL is being broadcasted here
    i use huappuage capturing card
virtualdub with XivD codec for capturing to avi
    i keep everything interlaced
i captured 2 different clips at different time.
later, i joined them using VirtualDub's Append avi segment
i fired up TMPGEnc, TFF, and encoded the appended avi to mpeg2
later i burn them onto DVD as DVD-video PAL

    here comes the big problem,
    i viewed 'em on TV,
!!onli the first part of the video is jumpy!!
    the second part is perfect!!

    damn...
    so my question is:
izzit possible to change the TFF to BFF
for the first part of the video onli?

thanks for ur help in advance

    thanks for reply
    sorry, i didn't notice i double posted it =p
can you help mi remove the other one?
    thanks a million^^

    ok, i have tried Restream
    it works,
but there is a small problem.
TMPGEnc's MPG tools onli allows mi to cut at the nearest keyframe
but the bad part of the video came in where there is no keyframe

Does XviD support interlacing? DivX 5.1 does.

Don't capture to XviD, that cause many problems. Try MJPEG or Huffyuv.

You have to cut at key frames. If you used the default 10 seconds on key frames then you lose 10 seconds. Huffyuv and mjpeg are all key frames, so you can cut anywhere.

    yep, XviD does support interlacing
and the current XviD 1.0 RC2 had all the interlace bug fixed

i'm a bit tied on HDD space,
that why i use XviD instead of huffyuv

but, the acutal problem dosen't lie with XviD,
its the TFF and BFF flag in the PAL mpeg2 stream.

the keyframe i am referring is the MPEG2's intra frame
    and not the AVI.

now i'm begining to regret deleting my AVIs
any1 have any idea to fix this problem,
    without transcoding my MPEG again?

    thanks for all ur help
