  2. 1) Under tools run the vcdhelp.com bitrate calculator and input all your info, I would lower audio to. This will give you an video bitrate of 1025 (for an 80min CDR).

    2) Run TMPGenc and load the standard VCD template. then load the unlock template (This will unlock all the greyed out parts of the standard template, should be in ../templates/extra)

    3) Load your source files.

    4) Click on settings. Change size to 352x240 (or whatever), for encode choose either CBR or 2pass VBR (if poor source [eg. DivX] CBR is ok, if good source [eg. DVD rip] use 2pass VBR for best results).
Enter the bitrate from the calculator.
    CBR - just enter number
    2pass VBR - max=DVD players max (~2520), min=300, ave=calculator

    5) Click on audio and change the audio bitrate to 128 (or whatever).

    6) Encode. This should produce a 795MB MPEG file.

Let me also add that if this is a DVD rip, either 352x480 or 480x480 would yeild better results, then 352x240.

    I followed this almost 100%
I used the calculator and came up with 1038 (my movie was only 91min) And I made all the adjustments.
My mpeg turned out to be 895mb??
After i did this i realized i used VideoCD(NTSCFilm)Template instead of the standard VideoCD (NTSC) template.. Is this whay my file was so much larger the 795mb? I am going to re-encode it if the other template will work...
