  1. Does anyone know how to prevent audio reencoding in DVDWS2? It seems that keeping unchecked the "" doesn't seem to have any effect. The audio is AC3 DVD Compilant, but despite keeping the perfect sync, the audio's duration doesn't quite match the video's, which might be the cause for ulead's reencode. Any ideas?

  2. If I were attempting to mux an AC-3 file to a segment of video that were longer than the audio, I would utilize Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.0.

The reason is the gap created by the longer video clip could be filled with an AC-3 audio "silence" clip - which would ensure that the audio track would match the length of the video track.

Nevertheless, I recall in testing Ulead DVD Workshop 1.3 that when the DO NOT CONVERT COMLIANT FILES check box is checked and the project settings are adjusted to match the properties of the source video and audio - no re-encoding occurs.

    Have you tried this?

  3. There's a slight change in audio duration after the ac3 encode, and I can't use ulead's encode because I'm attempting to build a 5.1 track. The wav tracks all have the length of the video, but after the encode, the ac3 become shorter by approx 0,01 second. I can author the files in Scenarist or TMPGEnc DVD Author, but in DVDWS I can't escape the reencoding.

By the way, I'm using DVD Workshop 2. The name of the option has changed, and it's setted clip by clip, but it still doesn't work for audio files. Maybe I'll try muxing the mpegs in another software.[/quote]
