Dreamcast Vcd Help

I have a dreamcast and tmpg enc. I convert an avi (divx) to mpg 1 and when I go to play the movie on my dc lik-sang 2.0 loads up I say search and play it says Loading... and then nothing happens and it goes back to the title screen. Sometimes it will play the sound but no video. What should I do? plz help me!

o.k.- so what do you do after you encode it? how do you burn it? i'm not familiare with how the DC plays video but i would assume it plays as a VCD. did you burn it as a VCD? i would use the search function here and see what comes up. i know i have seen alot of posts about playing vcd's on a dream cast.....

The ONLY way to play a VCD on the Dreamcast without re-encoding the file is with a new Chinese-made Dreamcast player called "Dreammovie". There was a previous version of this player from the same company that got ripped and is all over the net - that player really sucks, choppy frame rate - audio NEVER syncs. The new one hasn't been "ripped" because they included an IR reciever that plugs into the DC, and a remote - the software disc will not boot without the IR module, and even if that could be taken out the ability to use the DC controller would have to be added. The other free DC video player is called GyPlay but it requires re-encoding and only plays lower bitrate VBR mpg's with decent quality, it is not VCD quality. By the way the Dreammovie player is excellent.... worth the $30 + shipping purchase, also plays MP3's.......
