it's around 4.3 GB, so it's should be able to fit one DVD+R,

When I ripped long ago, I ripped so 1 (vob) = 1 (chapter), the plan was to convert it to SVCD, but now I got a DVD-burner....

Yes, exactly! It makes (as far as I've experienced) the most DVD player compatible file system possible. A real no-brainer too - no settings to tinker with - just select where your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders are located, select where you want the ISO, and off it goes.

  8. HHmm..

I wonder why Nero doesnt like them.

Actaully it doesnt make sense because normally vob files would be 1 gig each.

    it would be something like

    vts_01 1gb
    vts_02 1gb
    vts_03 1gb
    vts_04 500 mb

So if you had 32 continous vob files it would be 32 gb big.

I know you sometimes see DVDs that dont follow this procedure but its hard to understand how they were built like that.

  9. Hi,
if you ripped each chapter as a single vob, then you have to reauthor your dvd first. Because any vob should be 1GB (ecept the last one[could be shorter] depending on the movie). First use VobEdit (see Guides) and join your vob's together, then Author your new Dvd with IfoEdit (see Guides again). If you don't do it in this way (or similar) you will have a non standart Dvd.

Like FIW said, I did rip them as each chapter as a single vob (pretty stupid I know that now), but gonna look into the reauthoring - stuff and try burn it this weekend , will post an update on how it went, hopefully succesfull......
