First I need to apologize for asking the question again.
I know this might have been answered many time. I spent about 3 hr now searching the forums and give up.

I bought CANOPUS ADVC-1394 card and captured using the provided Stripped off Vegas 3.0 LE software. It captured will with out any problems. (no audio or frame dropping issues).

Using the provided WinProducer 3 I created DVD on CD (ie Mini DVD), VCD (mpeg1) in both instances, the quality turned out to be quite bad. (Both on TV & PC). Audio was distorted. Video was pixel’ed/blocked on the TV screen.

Then tried to use TMPGEnc to generate MPEG1/MPEG2 files. The files were of a much lower quality then the WinProducer.

Then installed Roxio Video Wave movie Creator. Created a Mini DVD (DVD on CD). The over all quality was better then the above 2 instances, but still far inferior to the actual capture file (Uncompressed DV- AVI).

Now I need suggestions are to what software is preferable in this case to convert these huge AVI’s to a more “storable” format?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks….

    Hi nufdude,

...might be of interest. My reply to the post details high-level info that might be of use.

Although you're capturing a different way, you still have AVI's that will then follow the same process and steps, as described.

Post back with anything you're stuck on...
