My system was able to encode videos to AVI, both Divx and Xvid, fine until I reformatted my system. Now, video that I capture using MSI TV@nywhere card is registered as having no mpeg frames or packet synchronization error when I try to open the files in VirtualDub. I also cannot encode to Divx or Xvid. I used virtualdub, xmpeg, and flaskmpeg to no avail. I would need to use flaskmpeg to reconvert an mpeg file before I am able to have it read by virtualdub. Even after that I can't encode to Divx or Xvid.
I tried using my backup system to encode a short clip and it worked fine. But my backup system is painfully slow.
I am stumped as to what could be the problem. The only thing in my current system that was not in my system prior to reformatting was the windows updates. But those shouldn't be the problem.
Any ideas on what I should try before I reformat and try again?
