How do VCDs look on widescreen TVs?

I'm looking into getting either a Mitsubishi 55" or 65" WideScreen TV. Anyone playing VCDs on TV's this size? How do they look on there?

Thanks for the informative reply. I can't exactly run down to my audio video store at 9:30 at night to test out how VCDs look on widescreens. Since you don't have one...no need for you to reply.

It looks just like how it does when you play it at full screen on your computer. I have a Pioneer Elite 62" TV

YOULL FIND MOST PLASMA OR HDTV READY WIDESCREEN TV'S REALLY DO A HACK JOB ON VCD'S. IN A NUTSHELL, IT DOESNT LOOK TOO GOOD.

That's what I figured. Wonder how SVCDs look on them...probably better but not great.

It all depends on the quality of your vcds. I have actually been fairly pleased with my xvcds. Recorded in widescreen on a Hi8 analog camcorder, captured at 704x480 or 640x480 with no compression, encoded at 704x240, de-interlaced at 2480 kbits/sec (that's the fastest my dvd player will play smoothly). I have experimented extensively for several weeks, and have not come up with anything better. The resulting color is actually better using the vcd/dvd player as the source, but the picture is not quite as sharp as the tape/camcorder source.
