I'm looking into purchasing some type of drive as my NEC ND-1300A rip speeds aren't that good. Currently I have an NEC NR-7900 24X CD-RW drive also and I want to replace it with a DVD-ROM/CD-RW Drive that isn't locked at 2X for DVD ripping speeds. I have a DVD-ROM drive here I could use as I know for a fact its speeds are good, but I'd rather not deal with an external power source and all that, plus I would need it to burn CD's also which unfortunately this drive doesn't do. I really don't want to use my DVD burner for CD's as I do burn quite a few, I want to avoid extra wear on the DVD burner if possible. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not sure if it matters but it would be Master on my Primary IDE channel.
