  1. ok i have a dvd right now, and it has 2 different subtitle tracks. I am using dvd maestro. I then import the .spf file for each subtitle track so they have the proper colors and not the blurred madness.

Well what appears to be happening is if i open the spf for one sub set, it erases or ignores the spf i used for the other sub set. So when i go play it one set looks fine, while the other, the color is horribly off.

I then tried and used note pad and copied the color info from one sub set to the other, but that did not fix things at all.

So i guess my question is how can i either get them the same color or be able to use both spf files for each one's proper track, or are different colored subs (2 subtiles for one video title) for the same video clip not allowed in dvd specs????

IIRC there's only one subtitle color table in the ifo (not one for each subs track), so you might say it's "not allowed" but more to the point "you can't have".

  3. i had a feeling, but interestingly enough from a post i found while doing a search, their was an app someone made (forgot exact name) but it dealt with sup/srt files (although i used sub rip to make my subs). And that app also opened the ifo files to edit that way. So i used that and the apps default button. It made both subs still readable (but not the best) and with 2 different colors. But i guess that is because the subs themselves were different colors to begin with and changing that info makes the colors appear different.

At anyrate i even made an spf file using maestro and this did fix things, however it only fixed it for one sub and not the rest for that set. If i could get it now to do the entire sub track (i made it the same color as the other sub track). Then my problem will be solved. Re-ripping them is out of the question, it took long enough just to get them timed corrrectly.

  4. you can use SUPremap to remap the colors then you will have two different colors on the subs. check this:

  5. That is actually the app and post that i found. It did work but still i have to do a lot of tinkering with the colors.

my original subs were yellow, while theo ther was white. So im trying to get some compromise. I am still going to play around with Supremap and another trick im thinking of in maestro
