Has anyone here used the Canopus ADVC-300 convertor and would care to comment on it? I seriously need something to transfer 250 analog tapes (mostly S-VHS and Betamax) to DV and be able to filter out color noise. I already have Pinnacle AVDV card w/ Studio 8, but it has no option for removing noise. Or is there some other software I can use to remove noise from DV files? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't really want to capture in MPEG since I need to do a lot of editing with these tapes.

Studio 9, which I just received, finally offers some clean-up filters on video & audio, including one for video noise (and another for color correction which worked very nicely for me). I haven't tried it yet so I can't attest to its quality, but if you were planning to upgrade anyway, you may as well give this a try first. I think there's a trial download available, but I'm not sure.
