  1. Installed FFDShow. Great I thought, finally get rid of all the codec errors.
    Everything is green!
    Uninstall, everything is normal.
    Now what do I do?

I have downloaded ffdshow, and just plain did not like it.

I am only guessing, but it may be a possibility that you have clashing codecs, hacing too many installed at once can lead to all sorts of weird and wonderful problems, nearly all resolveable by de-installing.

just a suggestion, but try de-installing any codecs or codec packs that you have that you dont use or need.

  3. Thanks, that was my next move, to uninstall everything, then try it again.
So many codecs seem buried, and uninstallable, might have to do it manually, unless someone know's an easier way.

I had a problem with too many codecs installed once and I just decided to scrap Windows completely and start over.

This technique isn't for everybody however, but it did work for me.
