Weird Keyboard Problem.. Please help :(

I have this weird problem with my keyboard... When i hold "Ctrl", i can't press Space! This is really giving me problems as i depend pretty much on this combination for the programs i use.. eg. Photoshop, 3dsmax. More importantly, i can't do efficient crouch jumps in FPS games anymore, lol.

This occured only recently.. Does installing of language packs affect the settings in any way? I recently installed a Japanese language pack and that was the most significant change i've done so far.. Any kind knowledgeable soul know the cause of the problem and how do i go about fixing it? Thanks in advance!

Lanquage packs? Could be the problem. They may have remapped the keyboard. Why not do a restore to an earlier date with XP and see if that fixes the problem? You can always go forward again if that doesn't fix it.

Thanks for your help.. I've tried the earliest restore date and it doesn't appear to be correcting the problem Is there any other way to check my keyboard mapping?
