  1. Hi There...
I have a movie of 1200 MB in DivX. I know how to cut movies at a special time via VirtualDub but i would like to know how to cut it after 700 MB so i can burn it on a CD-R to play it on my DVD-Standalone.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. I use AutoGK to encode to DivX/Xvid ...

U can set the option to break the resulting .avi file into two 700mb files by choosing to encode to 2 Cd's or to three 700mb files by choosing 3 CD's.

If you want to play it in a standalone player I presume you want to make a VCD out of it.
In which case you can use TMPGenc to convert to Mpeg1 . It doesn't matter that your Divx is 1200 MB . Then Burn to 2 CD-R's .
I don't think you can compress a Divx any more as it is already well compressed.

You would have to encode it to play on a standalone player unless you have one which will play Divx , these are not very common yet.
