I have an Epson R300 and although the print quality is great there seems to be a little problem that Im wondering if anyone else has experienced. Right out of the box, I had this problem. When I link of the CD holder with the arrows, it wont work, it just pushes it back out. In order for it to work I have to push it about 2 inches past the arrow. The problem is that now it seems to be getting worse and even needs to be pushed in past the 2 inches past the arrow. Sometimes the roller just spins and it wont take in the cd. Should I return it and get a new one? It's only about 3 weeks old. Thanks.

Return it! Or call Epson and maybe they will send a new one to your door!
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
Sort of had the same problem when I first tried to print on printable DVDs... Make sure you have at least 3" behind the printer for the template to go all the way back...
Although it still could be defective...

There is plenty of room behind the printer. There must be a problem because you have to push it in past the arrow in order for it to work.

take a look at the that little clear plastic tab that's located at the very end of the caddy. The part you stick into the printer. Make sure it is nOT kinked in ANY way. I had the left corner develop a kick and it did exactly what you are describing. I gently straightened out and slipped it back until it is just touching the second set of rollers behing the print head. I works perfect again. I know it says to line up with the arrows!!! It doesn't seem to matter. I push it so the end tab is almost about to go into the rear rollers. I actually think it might be actually detecting the disk position itself as it moves back and forth before actually printing but I may also be completely wrong about that.

I had exactly the same problem. Kept spitting the tray out.
Now I will go very red in the face with embarrasment. I had not taken the white card out of the tray.
Works fine now.TOMMO -
I talked to Epson on the phone and they are going to send a new tray. I agree that the problem might be with the platic tabs on the end. I will keep you posted. I can use it but I have to give the tray a good push when it starts to take off.

Update. Before I had talked to Epson on the phone I had called my local staples where I bought my printer and they said they had none in stock but I could return the old one and they would order me one but it might take a few weeks. That is when I called Epson and they determined that the first step would be to send a new cd/dvd loading tray. Well I was up at Staples today for another product and what did I see one of? Yep, an Epson R300. I called the girl over and explained the problem and she said to go home and get the old one and we could exchange. I did that and the new one works perfectly. For sure the problem was with the plastic tabs on the loading tray. I line this one up with the arrows and there is no resistance to get it to that point. I guess now Im going to have an extra tray since Epson is sending me one. It might be a good thing to have on hand though. Anyway, thought this info might help someone along the way.
