extract the .dat file from an mpg

could anyone tell me how i can extract the dat file from a vcd in mpg1 format? what i want to do is burn it onto a dvd. i know i can do this by burning onto cdr first then copying the dat file back onto my hd but the problem i got id the mpg is 1.5 gis big.

rather than creating a .dat file from your .mpg and then converting to DVD just use the .mpg file that you already have as the source. For example: if you plan on using the afonic guide that Tommyknocker brought up ignore steps 1 - 3 and then when you get to step 6 just select your .mpg. Then just follow the rest of the guide. If all goes well you'll have that baby on DVD in no time.
