Okay so here is the rub, I am a complete numpty and I am becoming very frustrated.
I have a number of avi and Xvid files on my hard drive for which Gspot is telling me that I have the appropriate codecs. This appears to be the case as I can play them using DivX player.
I also have a Freecom DVD burner with the latest drivers installed.
Al i want to do is get the avi/Xvid files from my hard drive to a DVD to play on a Region 2 DVD player.
As I mentioned earlier I am a complete numpty so I went down to PC World and purchased X-oom DivX2DVD software (Which appears to be a rebadged version of NeoDVD V5,0,4,574) which relyably told me on the box it would do all of this conversion for me.
The problem is that when I use the DVD creator tool (for avi files) or the DVD Direct tool (for Xvid files) The system appears to start the conversion and then just stops.
I am sure that I have enough space in my temporary folder to store the files (one of them is only 5.4Meg) and to add insult to injury the files I am having problems with are copyrighted to my company and are for company use, as a test I have downloaded avi files from the net and they all seem to copy across to DVD and play on my DVD player and everything.
Can anyone please guide me through this mess, or do I just have to stop being a numpty and load alll this CCE and showtime and tempgenc malarky and drag everything through manually, which incidentally I really don't think I can cope with.
In addition I sent the 5.4 meg file to the X-oom support desk to see if they could do anything wth it and they simply sent me back a video_ts.zip file and said:
"I have just made a dvd with your file and it worked.
Please unzip the attachment and burn to dvd (as it is a dvd structure with ifo and vob files)"
However they have not explained how they did it, and because I am a numpty I still can't work out how I am supposed to burn this zip file to DVD.
I am rambling now out of pure frustration so if anybody can shed any light on what is happening here I would very much appreciate it.
thank you.
