i currently own several apple mac g4, amd athlon, playstation 2 and dreamcast.

about this debate between which platform is better all really comes down to the games you love to play. i personally love playing with RPG, driving simulation, fighting, and action/adventure.

i really love the dreamcast for NFL 2k2, Soul Calibur.
macintosh doesn't really have any games.
and i rather not use my pc to play games since my delta 7200rpm fan really drives me nuts.
playstation 2 has quite a few nice titles- GT3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, etc.
xbox wasn't too appealing because it didn't really have games i really liked... therefore i didn't buy it even though the hardware specs looks excellent compared to the PS2.
gamecube has nice cute mario games, but i'm not interested in those.

the point of this post is that everyone has their personal preference... and i personally find that PS2 has the better titles that suit my taste. in addition, i never trust microsoft products.. usually buggy!! as far as i know.. there's only Halo and DOA3 that's worth purchasing for xbox as of now. who cares about the awesome graphic capabilities of xbox if there's no good games for it yet...

My big console was the SNES when I was 9. I got it in 1994 and played it pretty much every day. I miss the old consoles.

My favourite system was also the SNES. But Saturn introduced me to the net and online deathmatches in Duke3D, so that was a cool one. And my DC kicks ass cause it's so damn pirate friendly, and it can emulate the old good systems.

As for the coming consoles, I have no money!
I spent like all my money on my PC and buying Windows XP, so no consoles for me for a while... but I do know that the next console I buy is the one that has KONAMI's Bemani games on it! And that will most likely be the PS2...

Even though this doesn't really belong here, I'll throw in my 2 cents.

PS2, It's okay, but it feels like an Atari compared next to the XBox. Seriously, go to a Circut City, or Best Buy, they will have the XBox demo station next to the Gamecube which will be next to the PS2. Play the XBox, then the PS2. Xbox has better resolution, the alaising makes it more realistic (better aliasing than the ps2).

As for the Gamecube, well once they come out with more than 4 games, I'll give you my impressions. So far, it's worse than the PS2, which is sad cause the PS2 is much older.
