I would just like to know if taking the audio cables from a running PS2, and plugging them into the front inputs on a SB Audigy 2 Platinum would allow me to record game music? Basically I know this will work, but I was just wondering if anybody else has tried this, and/or if it won't record right because of audio encryption.

  2. Well a couple of months ago my friend recorded from the ps2 to his mini-disc with an optical cable, so it should work on your soundcard.

It should work perfectly. The only problem you might have is the signal being mic/line level and the input needing the other, but that'll be immediately obvious. Encryption's not possible since the signal's not digital.

  4. agreed..
whatever encryption the audio files might have on them has to be decrypted into a recognizable data stream before leaving the PS2..otherwise no receiver would be able to play it..

    ...well...except a SONY receiver I'm sure...

now that i think about it...sony wasn't being very sony-like when they made that move They have since learned with the SACD's and chewing gum memory sticks
