Hi. Is it possible to rip two movies at the same time. I figure it will probally take lots of CPU usage, BUT is it possible? Thanks for any replies.![]()

If you have two DVDROMS, I don't see why not.
CPU useage is less likley to be a problem than disc access times (both DVDRom's and HD). -
As I said, I would expect the bottleneck to be the disk drives. I would not expect you to be able to rip two DVD's in the same time as ripping one DVD because of this. Exactly how much difference you would see depends very much on the system configuration.
As to running DVDshrink twice, thast a very different question. Dvdshrink is much more than a ripper. When it is transcoding then CPU power does become an issue. As to wether you can run two instances at the same time I don't know. Try it. Most apps will allow this but some don't. -
I agree with bugsters' post, but would also like to add that ripping speed might be enhanced when ripping if the destination of the rip is on 2 different hard drives.
