There may be an easier way but this is how I do it -

Rip the movie only (or whatever part of the dvd you want) using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. Under the Input tab make sure the part that you want is selected, you can even do individual chapters if you wish. Click on stream processing and deselect all the parts you do not need.

For the conversion to mp3/wav I use Headac3he. To enable it to output in mp3 format you must have the lame_enc.dll in the Headac3he directory, I already had Cdex installed so I simply copied and pasted the lame_enc.dll file. Have a look at this screenshot, as you can see it's all very simple. To open the mp3 options simply click options twice. The settings I have used give a constant bitrate of 128kbps. Works for me.

  3. HHmm..Mats method just adds an extra step though, why the need for Rejig ?.. DVDdecrypter can give you the audio stream on its own.

There are a couple of DVD to mp3 audio ripping programs but I found the quaility and/or volume was lacking in those.

Yes, you're quite right. Didn't think of that.

  6. yEP...DVD audio ripper is what i used, but I wasnt that impressed.

I prefer the DVDDec/Headac3he method, although if the DVD has a PCM soundtrack (a lot of music ones do) then you dont need headac3he although you may need to convert your 48khz wav/mp3 to 44.1, my lil mp3 player can play 48khz ok though.
