  1. I am trying to convert my SVCDs to DVDs. I have the video converted with TMPGENC. I am using DVD-Lab and had a problem playing mpeg audio on all my set top players, I used ffmpeggui02c to convert to ac3, and it works fine on two out of the three players I have tried, the one it will not play on is a Pioneer DV-C503. I have read that there is a problem with the free AC3 encoders and Pioneer set-top players.

I have tried using Soft Encode, but it crashes after a few seconds. What are my options for audio if I want to be able to play these on my Pioneer? Also should most set-top players play mpeg audio, could I have done something wrong in encoding the audio in the first place, on the Pioneer there was no audio and on a TV/DVD combo the audio suttered really bad. With the AC3 from ffmpeggui02c, the pioneer plays the sound but the sound and video freeze after a second or two.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    John

Your best option if you want to fork out a bit of money is use tmpgenc dvd author with the ac3 plugin. Most newer dvd players will play mp2 but not all will.
