  1. I use Pinnacle's Studio 8 for capturing and editing my home movies. My problem is with my DVD burner, Panasonic LF-D321. It initially worked with the software, so everything was great. Then it stopped working and I found out that Pinnacle doesn't support my burner- it was just luck that it worked the first few times.

Here's my dilemma. Do I buy a new burner that works with Pinnacle because I like the software or do I buy different software that works with my burner? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated as well as recommendations. I'm leaning toward replacing the burner since it seems there aren't many software products that are compatable with the Panasonic burner, but all comments are welcome.

  2. Welcome to the PS8 club. I got the same issue, after burning 3 or 4 DVDs with this software (using Pioneer A05), PS8 simply burn coaster discs. After wasting 3 discs and 3 days to re-encode the same damn video, I figure that just let PS8 generate the DVD content only then use Nero to burn that content on DVD writer.
== do not waste time trying to fix this === re-installing the software won't even help == calling Pinnacle tech support is frustrating.

I wouldnt' go buy another burner. Just have S8 output to the VIDEO_TS folder and then use something like nero to burn. Or create an ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter.

As buggy as PS8 is, I'm suprised that you would trust it to burn anything...I don't.
