  1. How is the compatability with divx/xvid on this player? I understand it has the sigma chip which in other players have some issues compaired to some other chips. I have a collection of DivX/Xviid movies and just trying to do my homework before I purchase. They all have a max resolution of 720/480 and can fit on 1 Cd. Does anybody know of a ratio of how many of thier discs play to the ones that don't? Thanks for your input-

  3. Finish your homework.. you dont want your grades to suffer. Then I would say 97% play ..virtually none are incompatible.

Thats promising, I did'nt realize it was that high. I guess you just hear of all the problem files unable to be played by most Divx players in this forum.

  5. Most of my movies are compressed with Divx version 3, and the other half with Xvid. Does it play DivX version 3 with stability, unlike some other players with the sigma chip. I really do not feel like converting my movies to v.5 with dr.divx, i would rather wait till a more practical machine came out if this is the case-

no XVID support is listed in the player's description. Anyone has experience with this one? sounds like another one of the 50 or more similar players - the price should be around $99 rather than $179

  8. From the FAQ section re the Bravo D1, the player will play "MPEG-4 AVI files using ISO 9660 format and XviD encoded files". I don't have a clue what that means but I bet someone will tell us all about it soon.
