  1. From what I've read our laws are somewhat more logical in their application but now thanks to this wonderful free trade agreement our two countries have we may now come under some DMCA legislation.

I already mentioned to a couple of guys on a PM that our copyright laws to be made consistent with the U.S. and vice versa as with the FTA.

This will make sense between the two countries and you guys will never argue with me.

These terms mirror those found on UK DVD's too, so perhaps we have the same anal copyright laws as Australia.

Yes, it is the same, this came from a DVD as regions 2 and 4. The film title is "The Mummy".

We should have similar copyright laws in the U.K. and Australia. Are we related somehow?

Yeah, but I won't say how for fear of offending

Actually, the USA and Australia have more in common with each other than with England. We both started out as colonies of England, but we had to give them a good "rodgering" before they'd leave us be
No offense intended to our good friends across the pond

That's why Americans love us Aussies so much.

I'm just hoping the FTA agreement doesn't go ahead so that we don't sell our own laws down the toilet and get the wonderful DMCA legislation.

And that's where the similarity ends I'm afraid.

True enough. Even though they drive on the wrong side, Aussies have the coolest slang, damn good beer, and they're more honest than almost any other country. Certainly more honest than we are here

I could add a single line of sarcasm here...

The trick is that we refridgerate the beer to keep it cold unlike our colonial relatives.

You're going to pass up a perfect opening like that? That shows good British restraint

I got a reply from Warner Bros legal as confirmed on what Adam was saying ok to lend, and NO to lend for profit.

This was my question: "Is lending my DVD movie to a friend legal in the U.S.?

This is what they replied: "Yes, you can lend a DVD to a friend; however you may not charge your friend for that DVD".

    Thank you,
