Need a good .ISO burner, as close to free as possible.

Anyone know of a good DVD burning software that will MAKE good .ISO image files of DVD-Video's (not that it matters, but its for home movies). I like to take my finished projects and make them into .ISO files which I can mount on virtual drives. I tested NERO which does this just fine, but my free time expired.

Alcohol 120 seems like it SHOULD do this (though it requires I first burn everything to a disc) but I can only get it to make it's own proprietary images, and not .ISO's.

CopyToDVD is SIMPLE yet excellent program for BURNING files, folders and images, but it WON'T make an image in excess of 1 GB without splitting the file. I don't want split files!

Any suggestions? Ideally, I'd like to have something that can make an .ISO image directly from VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders, but would be just fine making an image from an already burned disk.

Now I looked at ImgTools, but it seems to NEED Nero to run. Does this 'classic' version require such a thing?

ImgTool Classic is used for converting VIDEO_TS to ISO not for burning

IFOEdit (to create ISO's) and DVDDecrypter to burn 'em.
Both free. DVDDEcrypter even burns ISO's for CD's as well.

IMGtools and DVD Decrypter are all you need. IMGtools doesn't need nero if you are not burning with IMGtools...and I wouldn't suggest you burn with it anyway.

If you don't want to split the files make sure your HD is NTFS format...if you are running XP.

Yep! DVD Decryptor is the best for burning ISO's in my experience

ImgTool Classic did the job. I do not need it for burning, just for creating .ISO's.

I have Roxio 6 (came with my 8x Plextor External) which I despise, and it is very buggy. Creator Classic doesn't ever want to create DVDs, so I have to use something else to make .ISO's and then use Roxio Disc Copy which will let you use an image as a source (but it won't create an image from a disc).

I now avoid Roxio entirely by using ImgTool to create ISO's as needed and CopyToDVD to burn them out.

Just using my reader and writer
Trying to do that in dvddecryptor but havent found a way to do it.
