Hello, I'm pretty new to DVDR's etc. bla bla bla.
My problem is that I burned 2 DVDR's (VOB-files), from the harddrive on my computer to 2 DVD-R discs with Nero 6.0.0.15. My DVD-burner is a Pioneer DVR-106D. I tested these on my computer with PowerDVD and WinDVD and everything seemed just fine.
After that I sent them to a friend, and he can't choose chapter or rewind/forward, just play the DVD from the beginning... He also tested them both with PowerDVD and WinDVD, but had the same problem. I used a Bulkpaq 2x DVD-R and a "Grade A Media" 2x (it only worked with 1x though...) My friend tried to burn a copy of one of the disc, but that one had the same problems too.
My question is: What caused this? I guess it wasnt a compatible-problem since he tried to copy it to a DVD-R with another brand. So if it was a burning-error, how do I fix it![]()
Thanks in advance!

might try upgrading your nero to latest version..
Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping... -
did they fix that error in the latest version or are you just guessing?
thanks for replying anyway -
I e-mail the place where I buyed them and they said that I had to "fix the sectors in the movie", does anyone know how to do that?

Thought it sound to me (not 100% sure) like your using cheap media,, and it may be a problem in the future with other things. THIS specific problem sounds like a process issue.
Could you explain how exact you you are ripping and converting your movies? What software, what process? -
Ok, I'll try to be as accurate as possible...
First of all I got this big VOB-files from a buddy via FTP (2 DVDs).
Then I watched them and they worked and all.
Then I loaded Nero 6, choosed "DVD-Video" and drag-dropped the files from one of the DVDs into the VIDEO_TS-folder.
Then I burned it at pretty slow rate (1x or 2x, dont remember)
I tested the both DVDR's with some DVD software and they worked as they should.
Then I sent them by mail to a friend and he couldnt use the menu or rewind/fast forward.
I guess, if not the sectors are that important, that media isnt that good -
Ok they this. Download IFO edit and inside it open ALL the ifo files at the same time. Meaning click open select the first one then open it, the click open and select the second one, and so on until they are all open.
Then click GET VTS Sectors and click ok through any messages that appear. Close the program when its done or if no messages appear. Then make sure you burn it on a GOOD qualiity disc. Meaning not a princo.
If you burn with NERO make sure its upto date.
