  1. This if the first time I have use SVCD2DVD. I used it on a constant bit rate SVCD mpeg that played just fine. After the conversion everything looks ok except for the right hand third of the video which is doing a random blockiness.

Did you author with SVCD2DVD or just use it to produce mpgs to author in another application?

  3. Actually I used SVCD2DVDmpg and the resulting mpg shows the blocking on the right side of the video in the resulting mpeg file. It's pretty bad and it is large blocking of video in a randomized manner. I played it in different players on the computer and it looked the same in all of them. Windows Media Player and PowerDVD.

    ok. That is expected.

Why? Well the next step is to author the DVD & then use SVCD2DVDMPG to patch back to 480.

Viewing the mpgs after patching them will always look wierd. Once authored & the headers are returned to the original value of 480 - no blockiness

  5. Thanks for the reply. So if I understand this correctly I will have to write the files to create the DVD to the hard drive then use SVCD2DVDMPG to patch the files back to 480? Seems to me I read about this process somewhere.
