  1. Can someone tell me what is the difference between the two... I use both types of filters in VirtualDub. I'm also would like to know which filter should be used first (temporal or spatial) ???

    My english are not good enough, but I'll try to explain to you anyway. Some other may help you better on this ofcourse:

    Spatial filters: Compare a pixel (or a part of the picture or a group of luminance/ brightness / chroma) with it neighbours and if the overall difference is high, it attemps a smoothing

    Temporal filters: They compare frames / fields on a time axis


    Personally, I use spatial filters first and temporal filters after.

  3. Well said by Satstorm. Explanations of these are in the avisynth documentation as well. I don't use spatial smoothing, it's too slow.
