  1. Trying to make some back-up's of some of my more favorite DVD movies. The problem I have is when I put the DVD in the drive, it does not read the folders/directories on the DVD.
I have it set to region 1, so that isn't it.
The drive itself does work, I am sure of it. I can place a PC game in it and it works beautifully (reads the game/installs).
I have all the drivers and possibl;e updates I can get (at least i think so).
The drive I have is a Pioneer 106-D.

If there are updates for it that I may have over-looked, please post the url(s). Thanks in advance!

  2. Post Update: I just tried to put in a PS2 game (DVD), and it reads its files. Although putting in a XBox game, no files are read.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the discs are copy protected, u hafta have special software to decrypt the dvd, dvddecrypter, or if u just wanna make a backup of the dvd to another dvd, try dvdshrink, its a great program.

    hope this helps, josh

[EDIT] also, i think xbox games are read from the outside in, whereas pretty much everything is from the inside out.
