I have just made my second attempt at re-authoring a concert DVD. I wanted to increase the audio level, which went fine. However, after authoring and burning to disc, it only has 1 chapter.
I used SmartRipper to de-mux the audio/video streams, then AC3 tool to convert the audio to wav. Tidied up the sound with Audacity, then converted back to AC3 with ffmpeg.
Then used ifoedit "author new DVD" to put everything back together.
I used the frame numbers from the text file produced by SmartRipper to make a CellTimes text file. (The first frame number was zero - could this be where the problem lies - should the first chapter NOT be the start of the disc, but the 2nd actual chapter point?) I used Nero to create an ISO before burning with DVD DeCrypter.
The final DVD looks great, the audio is in synch and sounds a lot better. The only problem is the lack of chapters.
Did I miss a stage, or did I use the wrong info for the CellTimes file or something? I followed this guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/120013.php
for the information on adding chapters, and to be honest it seemed quite straight forward. I want to keep the original chapter points (although I have another concert DVD I want to add chapters to).
Should I have kept/swapped one of the files from the original rip before burning the disc?
Or should the first chapter point in the CellTimes file NOT be zero?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

It would appear that the ZERO was the culprit. Deleted it and tried again and made a perfect copy.

  4. gsh, follow this step for multichapter:
All thing you do is right, but in the CellTimes saving, when you choose VTS_PGCITI, don't save at that time, move your mouse to the lower window, find the line "PGC Command Table:" (not quote), click on it, now click "Tools/Save Celltimes to file". All done as you want.
