  1. I ripped a Few Good men using DVD Decrypt and its only 4.1 gig. I went to copy it with Shrink and it went thru an encoding process for like 10 mins before burning. What is it actually doing? It wouldnt do this If i was using Copy2DVD right?

Use DVDDecrypter to rip to HD then burn without further encoding.

If you rip it to the HD and it's under 4.3 (4.7) GB, then there is no need to bring shrink into the equation. Just use your burning software to burn to your disc.

  4. Yeah i will just use Nero next time. The reason I wanted to use Shrink was because I was testing something out to turn off the auto subtitles when you play a DVD burned in Shrink to see if it worked, but it didnt. I edited it with Ifoedit but it still auto played subs. I checked 2 DVD players and both had subtitles set to off. Can anyone help me with this?

  5. $0.02: if you can not manually turn the subs off, they may be encoded onto the video file. In which case, there is no "off".

If you can manually turn them off, there is probably an ifo setting to be modified. I will leave explaining that to those in the know.

I wondered the same thing until I realized that it takes about this long just to *write* 5 GB of data, which it has to do. in other words, it isn't actually transcoding, it is just rewriting a second copy of the data to another area on the drive.

  7. It does this on ALL movies and the subs have to be manually turned off. Its not a BIG deal, but I would rather not have them automatically go on. I checked both DVD players and they both have subtitles turned off on the menu.
