i taped a friend's concert a few months ago, and im finally getting around to editing it. my problem is, that when i was filming, i was up close to the stage, and so the audio is distored in the video. it was my first time filming a concert, and i learned my lesson. but now im left with a video with crappy sound. its not heavily distorted so that you cant hear anything. theres basically too much bass since i was closest to the bass player when i filmed. is there any way to make this sound better? btw, i use premiere 6.5 and premiere pro

You could load the audio into Gold Wave and select Effects-->Filter--Equa-
lizer. Then have a field day with equalizer slides.

  3. you can see if eqing works but it probably won't do too much for you unless this was a softer concert than usual. usually right up at the stage without some kind of attenuation = unsalvageable.

yeah ive tried to equalize it in premiere, but havent had much luck. i was standing by the bass speaker the whole time, so that totally washed out the audio. i guess i learned my lesson though.

Base Reflex is particularly hard on camcorder mikes. Having seen some concerts recorded (the band loves it, and it doesn't hurt their sales one bit), most sessions use external mic's and are way back from the stage. You got a zoom, use it. Tripods are mandatory. Getting you mic's up 8-10 feet help eliminate people talking on the video.

Goto lordsmurf.com and e-mail me. Ask for the PDF of my new SoundForge audio restoration guide. Though it's not on the site yet, I've been e-mailing it to those that need it.

    It should help you.
