I am using a trial version of TDA so I can't obtain support from their website. I have no idea what a "Unit Number" is, so can't correct the problem. I am getting this error as soon as TDA starts burning the movie to dvd. The authoring process goes smoothly. I have authored a few dvds in TDA that have burned ok. I am using Memorex & TDK -R blanks, both of which I have used previously with no problems. I authored the movie to a -RW first & had no problems, but when I tried to burn the same movie in TDA to a -R, I got the error message. I tried copying the -RW to a blank -R in another program & it copied but I got an "Invalid Disk" error when I tried to play it in a stand alone player. The -RW plays in the stand alone. I am confused about what the error means & how to correct it. I don't want to purchase TDA if I am going to have problems with it. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Strange one to me. I use TDA and have found it to be a very stable app.
I also went to the app's website and could not find any info on your error msg.
To Troubleshoot:
First off, defrag hard disk(s)
Might try burning your authored folder using another app such as nero, etc. to see if burn does OK.
If new burn is good, then either re-install or chuck your TDA burn utility.
If new burn also bad, change media brand and/or check your burner for problems.Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping... -
Thanks for the suggestions. My hard disk is de-fragged on a weekly basis & had just been de-fragged the night before I started getting the invalid unit number errors. Some burns using TDA are ok with no errors, & then out of the blue I'll get the error. I don't have any problem when burning using Roxio Creator so don't think the problem is with my burner. I have just one burner (TDKRW0404N), so there can't be a conflict between two burners. The error always appears right after it starts the lead-in, in Sector 16. I have resorted to authoring in TDA, writing to an ISO file, & burning in Roxio, but would rather use the TDA burner since I like the authoring app. My 30 day free trial is expiring & I don't know whether I want to spend $70 for it since I am having a problem with the burning process. Wish Pegasys would offer support to potential purchasers.
