  1. Does anyone know about a good software for a creation of our Movie Database? I tried to make a db on Access but the database I'm looking for is a little more complicated for the time I wanna spend with it... I've searched and so far I've came up with Movie Collection (Collectorz.com), and it's pretty good, but I'm still searching...

    :P

  2. Your never gong to find the software that does exactly what you want it to do. Spend the time with Access or Excel and build your own.

  3. Movie Collection, really does the job, and more importantly it evens searches several sites (IMDB, etc) for the information, I just have to insert the name of the movie, however I can't edit the form to include other items, like the movie title in my country.

    DVD profiler here too.

Creates reports, automatic picture import, every feature available. I used to use Ant Movie catalog, but the IMDB look up isn't all that great and report generation wasn't either.

DVD Profiler has worked 100% for over a year now, plus a free online movie catalog of your movies (here's mine http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=disturbed1 )

  8. The same company of Movie Collection (collectorx.com) ahs several programs for many diferent db (books, cd, mp3, and so on...), but on the same software I don't think so...

And Movie Collection, as any other different software for Movies DB will let make the diference between DVD, VHS (even BETA), SVCD, VCD, etc

What I like about DVD Profiler is that you can enter the UPC number under the barcode and the software goes online for the data. Very slick! Oh, yeah, and it's free!!

  10. Yes one of the good things about DVD Profiler is that it is free... but any software (from those i've seen does that bar code thing (personnaly I don't use it)

How about one for TV show episodes? These are going to be episodes from current series that I'm buning to DVD rather than from box sets. What are people using to catalog these kinds of collections?

i tried the above and have found it be very easy to use and good search abilities.

just one little problem, it relies too much on Internet Movie Database

although not that much of a problem it can lead to inaccuracies.

BUT ITS FREE.....i can put up with little probelms like that!!

I was looking at several movie database programs and was wandering if any of those you use also has a print feature to make dvd labels.

If not what do you all use ? I would like to put picture and name on front, the catalog number and name on spine and the plot/synopsis on the back.

I scan them and print them out, if you don't have a scanner then try one of the cover sites.

Still no answer to my question. What are you using to catalog current TV series? I'm also starting to burn discs of cartoons for a friend's niece and will require some way of keeping track of which episodes I have capped/burned. What can I use for that?

Or why not try using Excel, yes its Microsoft, and yes i dont like their domineering globalisation almost dictorial attitude to products, but it is easy to use, has MANY guides and help sites online and most importantly its

    FREE

    (with most computers)

Well I downloaded the program but can't get past selecting the default database. I follow the directions to the letter to select it and the program shuts down. Open the program again and I'm right back to the database selection screen again. I removed it from my computer.

I found my old DOS copy of MyData. I'll modify my old VHS/Beta database to use DVDs. A very simple and small program (under 300K) but it works good. I can print out my list in various ways and include it in my DVD binders.

Have watched 'em all, well 99%. Some the girlfriend picked out I have more, but DVD Profilier has been dead for a few days and I can't update.

We hit up BlockBuster, and Hollywood video when they have 3 for $20 sales, and Walmart's $5 bin. Doesn't count my bootlegs (TV movies/shows, out of print VHS, and live concert footage put to DVD-R).

Try Ant Movie Cataloger, its freeware, links to many foreign and domestic databases, does almost everything.
