  1. Anyone know what field order ATI MMC 8.9 captures MPEG-2 in? I seem to be getting the tiniest bit of jaggedy edges on my finished DVDs. It's not all that dramatic, but I'm wondering if I've got A and B reversed somehow.

    Here's my set up:

I capture VHS in MPEG-2 using an ATI 9000 PRO (sourced from a JVC-S5902U via. a DataVideo TBC-1000). I then take the resulting MPEG-2 straight into TMPGEnc DVD Author, design menus and such, then use Nero to burn.

The raw MPEGs look as good as VHS can. By the time they come out the burner, there's the slightest bit of hoizontal flutter around the edges of surfaces and things. Drives me nuts. Paranoid that something could be happening in TMPGEnc DVD Author, like two different field orders not getting along all that well.

I know I can re-encode using any number of programs and change field order that way, but I'm hoping there's a way to make the swtich with MMC before/during the capture process.

    Thanks in advance!
