Hi, I was trying to play the movie "Gone in 60 sec" on my computer with my SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-612 player, but it wouldn't play. I tried to rip it with smartripper, and it says I have to play and unlock it first. Does anyone know how I could do that?
I played it with my Pioneer 343, and it was fine.
Thanks=)

Hello!
I assume your goal is to actually rip the movie and not play it on your computer. Actually I haven't had much success playing the dvd and then going in to smartripper to rip. So, whenever I get that message I just use another ripper. Try using CladDVD or another one. Below is a link to Sefy's coversion guide:

I tried with CladDVD, it ripped the movie "Gone in 60 seconds" half-way, but couldn't unlock the whole movie???
There are 5 VOB files, it ripped 3 and half-way on the 4th file, and couldn't unlock the 5th one. Does anyone have any problem with this, or know how to fix it?
THanks.
p/s:I already tried ripping it 3 times with CladDVD, it won't work.

Pinoy, I tried both of them, still not working.
Cladmdec does not detect the 5th VOB file, and only detect 1/2 of the 4th file.
DVD-decryter ripped the first 3 files, then prompted an error on the 4th and 5th VOB file, and stopped ripping.
I have never had any problem like this before ripping other movies, I don't know why this is one is so locked up!!! -
What SmartRipper means by having to PLAY the movie first is to actually PLAY the movie using the DVD Software you would use if you were to watch the DVD on your computer, for a couple of seconds. Then stop the movie, and then open up SmartRipper again. The entire DVD should be unlocked.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Vidkid. But the thing is my stupid SAMSUNG DVD SD-612 cannot play that specific movie " Gone in 60 sec", therefore cannot unlock the movie. This is the first movie I have problem so far.

I ripped What Lies Beneath a while ago and I think with that movie, they change keys sometimes. DVDDecrypter has a setting where it will keep checking to see if a key changes on a couple different criteria. This may or may not be a fix for your problem.

make sure the disc doesn't have any scratches. If it does then you need another copy of the movie. I borrowed a friends Gone in 60 sec. and had probs. I brought one home from work and it copied fine using CladDVD 1.7

Thanks, I don't see any scratch on the disc, but I guess I'll just give up this one for the time being, and look for another later. Afterall, there are plenty of movies out there.

Ok, when all else fails!
Get yourself Sector Extractor v1.2, I think it's downloadable on Doom9, it is the BEST program when all else fails! I have not had a single movie this program did not manage to copy the files from it!
If you can't get it, contact me in email and i'll send it over!
