  1. Ive backed up several folders from my hard drive by burning them onto a dvd using Nero. I would like to delete some of the files on there but when I try to, it tells me that they are read only and wont let me delete them. Is there something I'm doing/not doing? Thank you.

  2. right click on the hard drive file in question and change the attribute from read-only to archive.

    [EDIT]

Ooops - I read your post wrong - sorry.

Johnso is right... even tho you're using a rw disk, you won't be able to delete individual files unless the rw disk had been set up for packet writing such as DirectCD. InCD, etc.

You can't delete files from a DVD unless it's a rewriteable, an RW.

That IS what you said in your post, not that you wanted to delete from the HDD.

Get some DVDRWs, - or +, as suits your machine. Then you can add, delete, modify, to your heart's content.

    Cheers,

    George

    Hi
I have a similar problem only that i have used 'full erase' on the RW. i open this on explorer and no files are showing, BUT it says that i have used 1.99GB. it won't let me overwrite these when trying to burn from another program. it states that there is something on it....Any ideas???
You won't know, until you ask
