Well looks like we are spread out quite a bit here. I have a few good servers I play on....pretty fast as well. However, not everyone is familiar with the game yet so it seems. So maybe we can help out the newer guys with the game play a bit. Play on a private server for a bit.

Slimmx.......why don't I set up a server from my computer and you can connect.......just to see how good or bad of a ping it is. Then if you are ok, we can have the others join so we can help them out.

Steam refuses to install. I went to steampowered.com, downloaded steam, but after the update page, the message "Steam has encountered a probleam and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience." comes up. No matter how many times I try...it just isnt working. This is really starting to piss me off.

EDIT: Nevermind...I got that problem solved. But now I have a new one. When I choose Counter-Strike to be added to my games list, it prompts me with a confomation message where it asks for my email address. After I enter one, it says that a validation code will be sent to me within a few minutes and to copy and paste it in the box provided, but I'm getting nothing. Any suggestions?

this may answer you question about why you're not getting a validation. there system is currently running slow.

yup, their email system is current backlogged, so most people aren't getting their "validation emails" like they should. Valve insists that the problem will be solved promptly

Like others said, Steam is having problems after their last weekly update. I couldnt log on yesterday but was able to later that night. They are still having a bit of trouble trying to get everyone updated so I would probably wait till tomorrow.

It all should be cleared up pretty soon. I can't wait to start playing with everyone........its going to be a great time.

This thread really came alive since I last visited. Sorry everyone I was just very busy. I am ready to play whenever all the rest of you are. We just got to decide whether we want 1.6 or 1.5 cause I see that some ppl have problems with 1.6.

Problems with 1.6 should be solved by now. Steam had some heavy usage on their last update and got shut down for a short bit. Everything should be going smoothly now.

I am down for a 1.6 game anytime. Tonight would be good if anyone wants to play. I could probably run a server for a little while......depending if the pings are good. It would also help to have a private game to show Devanshu the ropes if he needs some help. After that we can find a server with some people in it and have at it.

Get back to me.

Hopefully the first one should work for you........cause reinstalling always sucks. Maybe browse around the www.steampowered.com forums. Look in the Steam Help section. There are a lot of people getting errors and possibly they can help you.

I play on a prett fast server located in Texas.......this should suit you fine duffy. Others dont worry about it........its pretty fast and should be able to give everyone a good ping no matter where you are.
