  1. Hi everyone, yet another newbie here, hope you´re all fine.

Here´s my problem: I´m trying to create a vcd, adding subtitles so I can watch it on my standalone. I followed these instructions: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t153058.html

...and everything went well, except that I came across with this problem: when converting to vcd using TMPGEnc I would get no sound whatsoever. Following the solutions given to this problem, I tried extracting the audio with Virtualdub, but when I reach the end which is "Save as WAV" this is what I get: No audio decompressor found to decompress the source audio format.

Now, just to give you all the details, the video that I´m trying to author is an avi format, the video codec is: XVID MPEG-4, and the audio one is: AC· DVM.

Thank you very much for your help.

Disclaimer: if anything of what I´ve posted makes no sense, I´m quite a newbie to this.....

  2. AC· DVM. !!

New one to me! However I'm totally guessing that it's some kind of ac3 codec so download and install Ac3 acm decompressor (See tools on the left). If it doesn't work it won't have done any harm.
