  1. I have a HP300e and I keep running into a problem when I try and back-up my Warner Borthers titles (most recently Body Heat, Enter The Dragon, countless others). I get a unable to read error. If I try and just watch the film with PowerDVD and says that the disc is scratched or damaged (yet my originals are all in pristine condition). If i try and use DVDIndentifyer it says its unable to read discs.
To me this sounds like a problem with my dvd reader/burner. Anyone have any suggestions?

  2. If the problem is with a specific company's DVDs, wouldn't the more likely problem be the copy protection used?

  3. But if there is a copy protection problem, wouldn't others have encountered this same problem? I talked to HP Support and they havne't heard of any other cases. It seems specific to my writer. I can't access the discs in Media Player, Power DVD, nothing...I get different errors from different programs. ???????

  4. Sometimes original disks look fine, but are badly pressed.

Take them back and change them .... I would wager a new copy will rip just fine.

Could these be because WARNERS doesn't put a blank AUDIO_TS on the disc when they master?
