I’m having a few problems, and i hope one of you fellas can help me

I am trying to create a dvd with 6 mpgs (approx. 450mb each) with NERO ver. 6

Attempt 1 - seemed to work fine, until episode 2 where the video froze but the audio continued, a trawl through forums seemed to indicate it was a problem with my screen saver kicking in while nero was encoding the file, to be on the safe side i removed DrDivX and reinstalled it turned off my screen saver, closed down unused programmes in the taskbar,

Attempt 2 - now i HAVE NO SOUND / AUDIO on my standalone dvd player (i didn’t check for the video freezing) , but it does have sound when using powerDVD on my pc.

Attempt 3 – I removed and reinstalled DrDivX & Nero, the sound is back but its freezing in the same place, I’ve just checked it on powerDVD and its freezing in the same place even on my PC??????

I’ve read a few forum pages and tried out GSPOT and the other app but it’s a bit beyond me, also I don’t have many codecs installed after reading posts advising against codec packs, it appears to be the standard MS codecs and DIVX, all my software is legit and registered.

I’ve also just downloaded SonicMYDVD and can only fit one file onto a DVD??? Does sonic ‘expand’ the files before writing them to the DVD?? I have tried to kinds of DRD a phillips DVD+RW and and IMATION DVD+R both seem to work, my stand alone DVD player is a SONY DAV-S300 (oldish now but still a beauty!!)

I have no idea what kind of files your original 6 mpegs are that you're trying to convert so I'm not even going to address anything above.

I tried SonicMYDVD when I first got started messing with video. I think it came free with my Sony burner or something. Sonic has this annoying habit of wanting to convert all audio to linear PCM. That jacks the file size thru the roof. Unless you actually want to use that format audio in your projects, I suggest getting a better authoring application that won't try to convert all your audio. DVD-Lab is a good one. TMPGEnc DVD Author is another (I've heard) but I never used it.
