    Every time i load up Main Concept Mpeg Encoder Register Version to convert my xvid avi file it just closes its self down no warning or error msg. This also happens with Ulead DVD workshop 1 and 2 both registered versions and TMPEnc Source Creator and TMPEnc the free one. Any ideas? all the software is the lastest versions, i am running XP with all the lastest releases.

    Just to be safe, install the latest Xvid codec. If that doesn't help you probably have a damaged file(even if it plays fine). Use this guide to check for bad frames.
