  1. My computer was infected with a virus so I ran an antivirus program. It was too late because it corrupted various appications and operating system crucial files. I had to reformat the drive and reinstall everything. Even after that I keep gething errors everytime I install new drivers or applications. I had to try several times just to install all the motherboard drivers and be able to surf the Internet and post this thread. I'm not even able to scan the drives again because the antivirus crashes all the time. Every few minutes it switches to an earlier version of the registry. If the system continues this way I'm going to get only coasters. Can anybody help me please?

  2. I don't use antivirus software but I think you need to get your system installed before installing it. It might be plugging up everything causing all these problems you're having.

I understand if you might be a little gun shy of getting a virus right now, but installing motherboard drivers, etc, is vital to getting your system up and running. You can install the antivirus program later, after everything else is onboard.

If it were me I would do a reformat/reinstall from scratch and get my system installed properly. Trying to uninstall that antivirus program and patch up your install now might not be that good an idea for a capturing machine. I like things to go right myself, and when they don't I start over.

    Good luck.

I've had this happen with bad RAM.

If you have 2 modules, like 2- 256s, pull one and try an install, if that doesn't hack it, swap them, or get a known good module.
